A tour of the Gushegu Constituency in the Northern Region by the Member of Parliament, Alhassan Tampuli has highlighted progress on key community development projects, including a completed Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound in Salaa and electricity connection projects in Pitili and Naatili.
The tour, described as the second day of engagements in the constituency, brought together the Constituency Chairman, Chairman Jibga, his executives, former Constituency Chairman Chairman Zinwara and a large number of young people.
At Salaa, the MP and his team inspected the completed CHPS compound, which is awaiting formal handover and operationalisation.
The facility is expected to improve access to basic healthcare services in the community once it is officially handed over and made operational.
The team also received updates on rural electrification projects aimed at connecting communities to the national electricity grid.
In Pitili, work on the electricity connection has been completed, with the project awaiting an official inauguration.
At Naatili, the connection project is approximately 98 per cent complete, with a transformer already installed.
A few remaining electricity poles and wiring works are needed before the project can be fully completed.
Once finalised, the project is expected to extend electricity access to residents of Naatili.
Beyond inspecting development projects, the MP and his delegation visited several bereaved families in the constituency to express sympathy following the loss of their loved ones.
The team offered condolences to the affected families and prayed for the departed to rest in the bosom of Almighty Allah.
