Aspiring National First Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has received renewed support from Imams and ethnic chiefs in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region.
The traditional and religious leaders visited Dr Abdul-Hamid on August 4, 2026, during his campaign engagements in the Ahafo Region, offering prayers and reaffirming their commitment to maintaining their relationship with him.
Dr Abdul-Hamid said his relationship with the leaders dates back to the 2024 election campaign, when he spent time in Asunafo South campaigning for the NPP’s parliamentary and presidential candidates.
According to him, the campaign activities provided an opportunity to interact closely with the Imams and ethnic chiefs in the constituency and build relationships that have continued beyond the election period.
He said the leaders described the relationship as a special one that they intend to nurture into the future.
As a gesture of appreciation for the friendship, the delegation presented Dr Abdul-Hamid with a ram.
Expressing gratitude for the gesture, Dr Abdul-Hamid said the visit reinforced his belief that effective leadership is built on trust and relationships that endure beyond electoral cycles.
“I am deeply humbled and grateful. To me, leadership is about trust and relationships that endure beyond election cycles,” he said.
The visit formed part of Dr Abdul-Hamid’s ongoing engagements with NPP delegates and stakeholders in the Ahafo Region as he campaigns for the position of National Vice Chairman of the party.
