Tension briefly flared at the Wa Magazine checkpoint in the Upper West Region on Tuesday morning after personnel from the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service(GIS) engaged in a heated argument over an undisclosed issue.
Eyewitnesses said the confrontation saw officers from the two security agencies exchange words, with some heard challenging each other by asking, “Who are you?” and “What can you do?”

The incident attracted the attention of commuters and bystanders, although the exact cause of the disagreement remains unclear.
The situation was reportedly brought under control before it escalated into violence, and normal operations at the checkpoint subsequently resumed.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Ghana Police Service nor the Ghana Immigration Service has issued an official statement explaining the circumstances that led to the confrontation.
