Professor Joshua Yindenaba Abor has been appointed Chairman of the newly inaugurated Governing Board of the Internal Audit Agency as part of government’s efforts to strengthen public financial management and accountability.
The inauguration ceremony was held on June 11, 2026, at the Ministry of Finance and was led by the Minister for Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson.
Prof. Abor, a former Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and Professor of Finance, will lead the board in overseeing the Agency’s mandate to promote effective internal auditing across public institutions.
The inauguration of the new governing board forms part of broader government efforts to improve accountability, strengthen public financial management systems, and address persistent audit infractions within the public sector.
Government expects the reconstituted board to provide strategic leadership to the Internal Audit Agency as it works to enhance transparency, improve governance practices and reinforce financial controls across state institutions
