The New Patriotic Party (NPP), through its leadership in Parliament in collaboration with the International Centre for Governance and Policy (ICGP), has organised an intensive capacity-building programme aimed at strengthening the legislative and governance skills of selected Members of Parliament.
The programme, themed “Mastering Parliamentary Excellence,” brings together a selected cohort of NPP MPs as part of the third batch to benefit from similar training initiatives previously held in the United Kingdom and Canada.
It is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge, critical analytical skills, and effective tools to enhance their performance in legislative work, public policy formulation, constituency representation, and party organisation.
According to organisers, the initiative reflects the party’s broader commitment to continuous learning, leadership development, institutional strengthening, and improved parliamentary governance.
The programme has been championed by the leadership of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, including Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, Patricia Appiagyei, Frank Annor-Dompreh, Habib Iddrisu, and Jerry Ahmed Shaib, who have been commended for their role in advancing the initiative.
Also present at the programme were the NPP National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, and the Deputy General Secretary, Annie Tsibo-Darko, representing the party leadership.
