Kumasi-based radio presenter Ama Parone has issued a public apology following the circulation of a leaked video featuring her, while also expressing support for suspended Kessben Media presenter DJ KA, whom she described as her mentor and godfather.

In a statement released on Friday, Ama Parone admitted that the first video making the rounds on social media was from her past and expressed regret over her actions.

She apologised to her family, colleagues, fans, mentors and the general public, stressing that the footage does not represent the person she is today.

“The video currently circulating, which features me, is a part of my past — a past I am not proud of.

It does not reflect who I am today,” she stated.

The broadcaster also dismissed claims linking her to a second leaked video, insisting she was not the woman captured in that footage and urging the public to stop associating her with it.

In the same statement, Ama Parone voiced her support for DJ KA, whose real name is Rexford Kwaku Ntim, following his suspension by Kessben Media over an alleged sex video.

Describing him as her godfather, she credited DJ KA for playing a significant role in her personal life and broadcasting career.

“You have been a pillar of support in my life and career.

You opened doors for me when I had nothing.

You believed in me when others didn’t,” she wrote.

Ama Parone said she was saddened that both of them were facing intense public scrutiny at the same time and prayed for God to grant him strength, peace and resilience during the difficult period.

“You are not defined by your mistakes… Stay strong, Godfather. This too shall pass,” she added.

DJ KA was suspended by Kessben Media on Friday after the company announced that it had opened an internal investigation into an alleged sex video involving one of its staff members.

The media organisation directed the presenter to stay away from work pending the outcome of the investigation and indicated that it would provide counselling, rehabilitation and legal support where necessary.

Kessben Media also appealed to the public to refrain from sharing the alleged video, citing its sensitive nature and the potential legal consequences associated with its circulation.
