You won’t be able to contain us if you don’t audit Voter register – NDC’s Chris Dugan warns EC

A member of the communications team of the NDC, Chris Dugan has warned the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa to safeguard the peaceful nature of the country by allowing the 2024 electoral roll to be audited independently and rid it off irregularities.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged compromised data in the register to be used for the 2024 general elections and called for an independent forensic audit of the electoral roll which will be used for the 2024 general elections.

But the Electoral Commission (EC) has yet again rejected calls from the opposition NDC for a forensic audit of the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR).

However, reacting to the issue on Inside Politics on TV XYZ, the NDC man called a bluff of the EC and cautioned that if the EC Boss remained admant, she would hear from the NDC.

He said an independent forensic audit was necessary to make the 2024 voter register credible to avert any chaos in the upcoming elections.

“If EC doesn’t do the right thing, they can’t contain we, the NDC members,” he fumed, adding that the “ECs refusal to audit the register is a day light robbery” that can lead to rigging.

Touching on the hardship Ghanaians are going through under the Akufo-Addo government coupled with the cedi depreciation that has led to the high cost living in the country, Dugan stated that the NDC was serious propagating its policies to the masses and working on implementing them when they win the elections.

“We are too serious for EC to mess the register…The 2024 elections is boot for boot. And we won’t sit for the NPP and EC to use that fraudulent register into the polls,” he fumed.

He added, “Nothing the EC will do can save Bawumia….Bawumia is hollow. He even dug holes and lied to his own people that they were dams for irrigation. This person can’t be president because he lacks character and leadership is all about character and Bawumia has none.”
