Kwesi Kwarteng calls Nana Aba an “opportunist” over Mahama jet defence

A spokesperson for Kennedy Agyapong, Kwesi Kwarteng, has slammed media personality Nana Aba Anamoah over her defence of President John Dramani Mahama’s reported use of his brother’s jet.

In a social media post, Kwarteng described Nana Aba as “a few hallmark of political opportunists,” suggesting her views shift depending on prevailing political power.

Reacting to comments she made on Starr FM, where she defended the President’s decision to use a private jet reportedly owned by his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, Kwarteng questioned the logic behind her argument.

“Perhaps the President should vacate the Jubilee House and operate from his brother’s Engineers and Planners office. After all, why maintain state infrastructure when family property exists?” he wrote.

“Better still, consider disbanding the presidential security detail and replace it with whatever private guards he has. That will save the state some money, isn’t it?” he added.

He continued his critique with further satire, suggesting the President could forgo his salary and depend on allowances from his brother, warning that such reasoning could set a troubling precedent for future leaders.

Kwarteng concluded his remarks with a pointed jab, referring to Nana Aba as a “Woman of Valor indeed.”

The controversy stems from Nana Aba’s defence of the President’s reported use of a private jet for official travel, including a trip to South Korea, an issue that has sparked broader debate about governance, optics, and the intersection of private wealth and public office.
