Nana Yaa Oforiwaa Amanfo, a seasoned newscaster with Power FM and TV XYZ, has been appointed to the newly constituted Board of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL).
She joins a fresh team of board members inaugurated by the Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, who has tasked them with reviving and repositioning the company after years of dormancy.
The appointment of Nana Yaa, who also serves as the Queen Mother (Beposohemaa) of XYZ Beposo, comes as part of President John Dramani Mahama’s effort to inject new energy and professional expertise into the Trade Fair Company’s leadership.
Minister Ofosu-Adjare stressed that the board’s key responsibility is to restore the Trade Fair’s relevance and profitability, tapping into members’ diverse backgrounds and networks to reposition the institution as a national asset.
Nana Yaa joins the board under the chairmanship of Kwame Owusu Sekyere.
Other members include Acting CEO Naa Amerley Bamba, Bank of Ghana’s Gershon Agbledzorwu, Evans Zoya Kpamma, Kwame Oppong Ntim, Ayisi Francis, Samuel Aberder, Torto Obodai Nabi Adjiah, Nii Adjei Koofeh IV, and Yakubu Musah.
Their combined mandate is to drive innovation and accountability as they work to rejuvenate one of Ghana’s key commercial institutions.
