The Ghana Police Service has arrested three persons in connection with a series of robberies in Obuasi, with investigators also linking two of them to a 2025 murder case in the Bono Region.
The arrests were announced in a Police update on X on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
According to the Police, the suspects were picked up during an intelligence-led operation carried out on February 15 at Mangoase near Pokukrom, where officers raided hideouts believed to be used by the gang.
The suspects were named as Aziz Abubakar, also known as Romeo, Faraway Amari, and Patient Asare.
Police said a search conducted during the operation led to the retrieval of a pump-action gun with ammunition, machetes, a bayonet, combat boots, a 9mm round, and GH¢20,000 suspected to be proceeds from crime.

Preliminary investigations, the Police added, suggest two of the suspects are connected to the killing of three people at Breme near Bechem in March 2025.
