The state has filed witness statements in the ongoing prosecution of the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu Boahen; his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng; their associate, Mildred Boateng; and a company jointly owned by Adu Boahen and his wife, Adantage Solutions Limited.
The four are standing trial on charges of stealing, causing financial loss to the state, and conspiracy.
Citi News on Tuesday, June 3, sighted three of the witness statements, which were submitted by the case investigator, Frank Marshall Crowell; the Director of Finance at the National Signals Bureau, Edith Ruby Adumuah; and Frank Anane Dekpey, an errand boy for the accused persons.
According to the investigator’s statement, the accused collectively diverted state funds amounting to GH¢49 million under the pretext of procuring a cybersecurity defence system.
In her statement, the Director of Finance, Edith Ruby Adumuah, alleged that her former boss, Kwabena Adu Boahen, was involved in a series of suspicious transactions corresponding to the amount allegedly misappropriated.
