President John Mahama has tasked the newly appointed Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare Addo, to drive his vision for Ghana’s youth forward.

Mahama expressed his confidence in Opare Addo’s ability to lead the youth ministry, citing the impressive organizational capacity and skills demonstrated by Opare Addo and the Youth Working Committee during the NDC’s campaign season.

President Mahama made the call while delivering a speech during the swearing-in of his second set of Ministers at the Jubilee House on Friday, January 24, 2025.

“To Mr. Opare Addo or Pablo as you are affectionately known, you establish a vast green army which you ably commanded and led to mobilize the youth of Ghana behind the cause of the NDC.

“It is now the time to replicate that unique organizational ability of yours at the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment to deliver the post for the millions of Ghanaian youths who aspire to living the dignified lives and securing jobs,” the President said.

The President’s appointment of Opare Addo signifies his commitment to prioritizing youth development in his policy agenda.

By entrusting Opare Addo with the youth ministry, Mahama is demonstrating his dedication to empowering Ghana’s young people.

Opare Addo has pledged to work tirelessly to advance Mahama’s vision for Ghana’s youth.

In a statement, Opare Addo expressed his gratitude to the President for the opportunity to serve and promised to collaborate with various stakeholders to drive youth development initiatives.

The Minister was accompanied by his wife Rahina Garba and members of the NDC Youth Wing led by its Chairman, Okai Mintah.
