The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will today, Friday, October 10, 2025, conduct a balloting exercise to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot paper for its upcoming presidential primary, scheduled for January 31, 2026.
The event, which begins at 11:00 a.m. at the party’s headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, marks another key step in the NPP’s preparations toward what it describes as a transparent and credible internal electoral process.
In an official notice signed by William Yamoah, Secretary to the NPP Presidential Elections Committee, the party congratulated all aspirants on their successful vetting and invited them to participate in the draw.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, openness, and unity ahead of the primaries and urged aspirants to confirm their participation in today’s exercise.
Five aspirants are expected to take part in the draw:
- Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong
- Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong
- Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong
- H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia
- Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum
Copies of the invitation were distributed to the General Secretary, Acting National Chairman, and the Chairman of the Presidential Elections Committee.
The Committee has assured that today’s exercise will be conducted with the highest level of transparency as the party moves toward selecting its flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
