President John Dramani Mahama has submitted the final list of four deputy ministerial nominees to Parliament for approval, marking the completion of his ministerial appointments under the new administration.
The nominations, made in accordance with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution, were officially conveyed to the Speaker of Parliament on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
A statement issued by Minister for Government Communications and Presidential Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, named four Members of Parliament selected to serve in key sectors of the government, reflecting the President’s commitment to effective governance and enhanced service delivery.
The nominees are as follows:
- Dorcas Toffey, MP for Jomoro – Deputy Minister for Transport
- James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North – Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs
- Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West – Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations
- Prof. Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan – Deputy Minister for Health
These appointments are aimed at reinforcing sectoral leadership and supporting the President’s broader vision for a responsive and people-centered administration.
The nominees are expected to be vetted by Parliament in the coming days.
