President John Dramani Mahama has appointed eight new envoys to serve as Ghana’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners to various countries, following consultations with the Council of State.
A letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and dated July 21, 2025, listed the names of the nominees along with their respective diplomatic postings:
- Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Namibia
- Kojo Choi – Ambassador-designate to the Republic of South Korea
- Dr. Kwame Ampofo – Ambassador-designate to Hungary
- Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey – Ambassador-designate to the Italian Republic
- Magnus Kofi Amoatey – Ambassador-designate to the Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Kenneth Akibate – Ambassador-designate to Burkina Faso
- Said Saleh Sinare – Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Paul Evans Aidoo – High Commissioner-designate to the Republic of Kenya
Additionally, the President has made changes to Ghana’s diplomatic representation at the Vatican City State. Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow will replace Mrs. Satirich Dorcas Ocran as Ambassador-designate to the Holy See.
The letter directed the Minister for Foreign Affairs to initiate the necessary formalities and preparations to ensure the swift deployment of the nominees to their designated missions.
