The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into allegations that an amount of GH₵400,000 was withdrawn without authorisation from the mobile money account of an agent in Kibi in the Eastern Region.
The development follows a directive by the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, for the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to probe claims made in a viral video circulating on social media.
In a statement, the Police said the victim has already been contacted and is cooperating with investigators as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.
The Service assured the public that the findings of the investigation will be made known once the probe is concluded.
