The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Ken Ohene Agyapong, has launched a scathing response to what it describes as “vicious and unprovoked personal attacks” from a known loyalist of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a statement dated Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Agyapong team accused Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as “KOKA,” of engaging in defamatory commentary against Mr. Agyapong during a programme on Wontumi TV.
The campaign said the attacks expose hypocrisy within the Bawumia camp, which often parades the Vice President as a “peaceful candidate” while allegedly benefiting from insults and intimidation by his surrogates.
“Silence in the face of such conduct is itself an endorsement,” the statement stressed, adding that by refusing to condemn the insults, Dr. Bawumia and his inner circle have condoned the behavior.
The Agyapong team further warned that it will not remain passive in the face of such vilification. “If they choose to drag this campaign into the gutter of personal attacks, they will awaken consequences they will come to regret,” the release declared.
Reaffirming its commitment to issues-based politics, the statement underscored that Mr. Agyapong’s campaign stands for “patriotism, honesty and discipline,” insisting that peace must not be mistaken for weakness.
The release, signed by Kwaku Amah-Darteh, Communications Director of the campaign, urged Dr. Bawumia’s team to “call their surrogates to order” to avoid further escalation in the already heated flagbearer contest.
