The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is heading into a new internal storm after its General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, filed a petition to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee against Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
The petition accuses Abronye of making defamatory and derogatory remarks against senior party figure, Kennedy Agyapong, including claims that “even the elephant has more wisdom” than him.
Mr. Kodua also dismissed as false Abronye’s allegation that he deliberately concealed a report recommending Agyapong’s expulsion from the party.
According to the petition, Abronye’s conduct amounts to defamation, breach of confidentiality, and gross indiscipline.
The General Secretary is asking the committee to launch a full inquiry and apply appropriate sanctions to protect the party’s unity and integrity.
The NPP leadership insists that accountability and discipline remain non-negotiable to safeguard the party’s image and internal cohesion.
