Ahafo Ano South-East Constituency Women’s Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hajia Meeri, has threaten to “cut off the fingers” of actress Vivian Jill if she proceeds with a school feeding contract awarded in the constituency.
A leaked audio captures Hajia Mayli expressing frustration and anger toward the party’s national leadership for allegedly sidelining loyal grassroots supporters like herself in the allocation of lucrative school feeding contracts.
She specifically targets Vivian Jill, an actress reportedly awarded the contract to provide meals in schools within the constituency.
In the recording, Hajia Mayli reveals that she received a call from a school headmaster in her constituency, who stated that a letter had been given to a lady to oversee the school feeding program at the school.
According to her, the headmaster confirmed receiving a letter signed by a party official, “Maa Gloria,” authorizing Vivian Jill to manage the school feeding program.
Hajia Meeri’s remarks are both confrontational and threatening.
She claims “Vivian Jill is not more of a woman than me, nor better than the women I campaigned with. When I was campaigning, I never saw Vivian Jill around. I have told Vivian Jill that if she or anyone she sends comes to cook in my constituency, I will cut their fingers into pieces”, Meeri threatened.
She further admits that Vivian Jill recorded their conversation and forwarded it to Maa Gloria, but Hajia Meeri remains defiant.
“She has recorded my conversation and forwarded it to Maa Gloria but I don’t care. I have said it. If Vivian Jill is a woman, she should come to my constituency and say she’s coming to do school feeding. I’ll cut all her fingers and throw them away, even if it means going to jail.”
Hajia Meeri accuses the party leadership of exploiting grassroots supporters for political campaigns without rewarding them fairly.
She angrily stated “You think we are fools. You use us to work and treat us like stupid people. Only you ride good cars and build big houses while you want us to remain villagers every day.”
