The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has completed selection for the first batch of 2,000 recruits as part of an ongoing nationwide enlistment exercise, with training set to begin on March 18, 2026.
In a statement issued from Burma Camp, the military directed successful applicants to report to designated centres across all 16 regions at 0900 hours to receive their appointment letters and prospectus.
GAF indicated that the recruitment will be conducted in four batches and urged applicants who were deferred on medical grounds to seek treatment, assuring them of a second review at no cost.
The military also confirmed that 18 victims of last year’s El-Wak Stadium stampede were included in the first batch, alongside five others sponsored by families of the deceased.
It further noted that considerations are ongoing to include individuals from Sikaman in the Ashanti Region who assisted during a helicopter crash rescue operation in the next phase of recruitment.
GAF expressed appreciation to regional authorities for supporting the decentralised recruitment process and urged remaining applicants to remain patient as further selections continue.
