President John Dramani Mahama has begun a nationwide inspection tour aimed at evaluating government projects and deepening engagement with citizens across the country.

The exercise, dubbed the “Resetting Ghana Tour,” will take the President to all 16 regions, where he is expected to assess the status of key infrastructure and social intervention programmes while interacting directly with communities.

The tour opens in the Bono Region from March 18 to 19, where the President will visit selected project sites and engage regional authorities, local government officials and community stakeholders to better understand development priorities on the ground.

Officials say the initiative is designed to move beyond reports presented at the presidency by allowing the President to independently verify progress and identify gaps requiring attention.

Minister for Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, explained that the approach reflects a deliberate effort by the President to take a hands-on role in monitoring government programmes.

Speaking during a visit by Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang to the Office of Government Communications, he noted that the tour will bring together ministers, regional and district officials, as well as traditional leaders and opinion influencers.

According to him, the engagement is expected to strengthen accountability, improve coordination at the local level, and ensure that government policies translate into measurable impact in communities.

The nationwide exercise will continue in phases across the remaining regions, with each stop expected to highlight specific regional challenges while contributing to an overall assessment of development progress.
