The Member of Parliament for Guan Constituency in the Oti Region, Fred Agbenyo, has reaffirmed his commitment to education, healthcare, and grassroots development during the third day of his district monitoring and assessment tour.
Accompanied by his constituency executives, Mr. Agbenyo visited Santrokofi Gbodome, Bume, and Benua, where he engaged directly with teachers, health workers, and community leaders to assess urgent needs and provide immediate interventions.
At Santrokofi Gbodome D/A JHS, the MP interacted with staff following recent re-roofing works supported by Plan International Ghana.

While praising him for his close engagement, the headmaster raised concerns about an incomplete staff common room, a stalled computer laboratory, and a deteriorating office.
Mr. Agbenyo responded with a pledge to deliver 1,000 blocks within the week, requested a wiring estimate for electrification, and assured the school of his lobbying efforts with GETFund for a new block.
At Santrokofi Bume, staff highlighted the need for ceiling fans, funds to complete the teachers’ bungalow, and provision of computers.

The MP assured them that fans would be delivered the next day, funding for the bungalow released within the week, and asked for a formal request regarding computers.
He also inspected a community-built pre-school project at its footing stage, commending residents for their dedication. At the Bume Clinic, health staff also presented a list of urgent needs for his intervention.
At Santrokofi Benua, Mr. Agbenyo visited the E.P. Cluster of Schools where teachers appealed for roofing support after a storm ripped off a classroom block, as well as for teaching and learning materials for pre-school pupils and painting of the block.
He directed the constituency vice-chairman to ensure these requests were met before week’s end. At the L/A Primary School, the headmaster requested support for a urinal, toilet facility, and classroom repairs.

The MP instructed the Acting Constituency Chairman to liaise with the community for immediate estimates.
Mr. Agbenyo stressed that his leadership will continue to prioritize education, health, and community-led initiatives.

“Every community in Guan deserves support to thrive, and I am committed to working with my people to make it happen,” he said.
