The government has inaugurated a new board for the Energy Commission, with renowned economist Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi appointed as Chairman.
The inauguration was performed by the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor (MP), who emphasized that the commission would play a decisive role in shaping Ghana’s future energy landscape.
The new board is expected to provide strategic direction in areas such as renewable energy adoption, energy market reforms, and securing private investment to strengthen Ghana’s energy infrastructure.
The members of the board are;
- Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi – Chairman
- Ing. Mrs. Eunice A. Biritwum – Ag. Executive Secretary
- Dr. Audrey Smock Amoah
- Mr. Danny Anang
- Ms Yorm Ama Abledu
- Prof. Ernest Ofori Asamoah
- Hon. Naser Mahama Toure
The Energy Commission, which serves as government’s key advisory body on energy matters, is tasked with driving the country’s green transition agenda while ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and reliable power delivery for national development.
