Credible and reliable information reaching theoverseeronline.com indicates that the former Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Chairman Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is expected to return back home this week from United State of America (USA) after seeking prolonged medical attention.
Ampofo fell ill few months after the National Executives election of the Opposition NDC. He lost his chairmanship reelection bid to Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
The details of his ailment are sketchy but theoverseerline.com can speculate that Chairman Ampofo had a surgery that kept him away from party activities ahead of 2024 general election.
Apart from seeking medical attention, Chairman Ampofo also used the opportunity to spend time with his wife and children who are domiciling in USA.
According to sources, Ampofo, is coming back home purposely to reconnect with NDC party base, Ghanaians and strategically play a role in making sure that NDC recapture power from ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in December 7th general elections.
All things being equal, Ampofo is expected to touch down in Accra on Thursday evening.
Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo is a Ghanaian politician and a former Member of Parliament and former District Chief Executive for the Fanteakwa North district of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
He is also a former Eastern Regional Minister and a former National Organizer, National Vice Chairman , Director of Elections and former Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress.
Ampofo is also a former Minister for Local Government and Rural Development.
