The Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere-Duah, has commissioned a Constituency Secretariat and Office Complex at Jinijini to bring parliamentary services closer to the people and strengthen engagement with his constituents.

The facility, which was inaugurated at a colourful ceremony attended by traditional leaders, opinion leaders, party executives, youth groups, clergy, and community members, will serve as the official office of the MP within the constituency.

In his address, Mr. Kyere-Duah noted that the establishment of the Secretariat is part of his broader vision to create a strong link between leadership and the people.

“This office is not mine—it belongs to the people of Berekum West. It is your space, your platform, and your avenue to engage with me directly as your representative in Parliament,” he stated.

The office complex is designed to provide a one-stop centre for parliamentary and developmental activities.

It will house administrative staff, serve as a hub for documentation and community outreach, and host stakeholder meetings.

The Secretariat is also expected to coordinate social intervention programmes, including the newly launched Berekum West Education Fund.

Speaking at the ceremony, traditional leaders who graced the occasion highly commended the MP for the initiative. They emphasized that the office would enhance transparency, accountability, and accessibility of parliamentary work to ordinary citizens.

Other dignitaries, including representatives of civil society and religious leaders, lauded the project, describing it as a milestone in constituency service delivery.

They urged constituents to make good use of the Secretariat by channelling their developmental concerns and ideas through it.

The commissioning ceremony was marked by prayers for peace and development in Berekum West, as well as musical performances.

Mr. Kyere-Duah expressed confidence that the Secretariat would not only bring Parliament closer to the people but also serve as a rallying point for unity, dialogue, and progress in the constituency.
