Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is set to embark on a nationwide campaign tour beginning Wednesday, October 15, 2025, as part of his bid to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.
According to a statement from his campaign team, the tour will take the NPP presidential hopeful to all 276 constituencies across the country, where he will engage directly with party executives, polling station officers, coordinators, and key grassroots figures.
The campaign, described as “grassroots-focused,” aims to strengthen party unity, deepen dialogue, and lay the groundwork for what Dr. Bawumia calls a “people-driven movement” for the future of the NPP.
The Bawumia Campaign Team also emphasized the need for civility and respect during the flagbearer race, cautioning supporters and communicators to refrain from personal attacks and divisive rhetoric.
“Our arguments and engagements must be grounded in verifiable facts, a comparative analysis of ideas, and the substantive track records of all involved,” the statement added.
“We must remember that our goal is party unity and national progress. Communications that sow division and create lasting animosity only serve to weaken our collective front.”
The team expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia’s track record and forward-looking policies will resonate strongly with delegates when discussions are grounded in facts and substance.
The campaign reiterated its call for “issue-based engagement and civil discourse,” noting that Ghana’s democracy is best served when political competition is driven by integrity, respect, and ideas that advance national progress.
