The Achor Newspaper has retracted and apologized to the National Youth organizer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo (Pablo).

Anchor Newspaper on its Thursday May 9th edition published that “NDC YOUTH CHASE LEADER, Accuses him of chopping from Opponents Nyafuu Nyafuu “

Upon this publication getting to the attention of the youth organizer, George Opare Addo instructed his lawyers to write to Anchor Newspaper for retraction or be sued.

Below is retraction and apology from Anchor Newspaper

George Opare Addo, NDC Nat’l Youth Organizer.

The national Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, is fighting off accusations that, he is in bed with some bigwigs within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the NDC youth leader, he remains committed and unchanged to the course of the opposition party, rubbishing accusations that he is being fed fat and funded by elements within the government.

The rebuttal by Mr. Opare Addo, affectionately called ‘Pablo,’ follows series of accusations thrown against him by some activists of the NDC, especially the youth, which had lingered on for a while and this paper followed keenly and published.

But the former Akuapem North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) through his lawyers, Lexkudoz Legal Consultants, has refuted the claims.

In a letter dated May 10,  2024, lawyers for the NDC Youth leader, described the publication as “untrue, unfounded, baseless, reckless, and without merit”.

Signed by ADRIAN DUKE AMANING, the letter stressed, “It is clear that your publication concerning our client was influenced by malice and a deliberate attempt to malign his hard-earned reputation.”

It added that “The statements referred to from paragraphs 5-10 above published by your newspaper are false. Our client has been a loyal servant of the NDC for his entire adult life and has never engaged in any conduct that may undermine the NDC and its electoral fortunes. Our client remains committed to galvanizing the youth base of the party as he leads them to victory 2024”.

Below Is Published, The Letter From Mr Opare Addo’s Lawyers:

GEORGE OPARE ADDO x ANCHOR NEWSPAPER

Editor’s Note:

We acknowledge receipt of a letter dated May 10,  2024, with the headline: “False Reportage About Alleged Compromise of The National Youth Organizer of The National Democratic Congress (NDC)” and the contents well noted.

We wish to state that the story published on (Thursday, May 09 – Sun May 12, 2024Issue 044/24 of The Anchor Newspaper) as mentioned therein in your letter, was not done out of mischief or an attempt to tarnish the image of Mr George Opare Addo Esq.

That said, we wish to retract the publication and unreservedly apologize to Mr. Opare Addo for any harm caused his reputation by the publication
