President John Dramani Mahama has sworn seven new Justices into office at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Their appointments, made in accordance with Article 144 of the 1992 Constitution, follow the required processes of advice from the Judicial Council, consultation with the Council of State, and parliamentary approval.
Administering the oath of office, President Mahama urged the newly appointed Justices to uphold the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, and fairness in the delivery of justice.
He emphasized that their presence on the bench would significantly enhance the Supreme Court’s capacity, particularly in managing constitutional and electoral matters as the country approaches crucial periods.
The seven Justices sworn into office are:
- Justice Gbiel Simon Suurbaareh
- Justice Senyo Dzamefe
- Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei
- Justice Philip Bright Mensah
- Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo
- Justice Hafisata Amaleboba
- Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo
Their appointments are expected to further strengthen the judiciary and promote public confidence in Ghana’s justice system.
