Deputy Minister for Transport and Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, Dorcas Affo-Toofey, has reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive development and economic empowerment through support for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), young people and skilled artisans.
As part of the interventions, she has donated 30 chest freezers and provided cash assistance to Persons with Disabilities to help them establish or expand their businesses and achieve greater economic independence.
The support is intended to enable beneficiaries to strengthen their business activities, build sustainable livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the local economy.
Madam Affo-Toofey has also presented essential working tools to artisans under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Skilled Support Training Programme.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the businesses of skilled artisans, promote self-reliance and create employment opportunities within the constituency.
According to the MP, the interventions form part of her sustained efforts to support vulnerable groups and equip young people with the resources needed to become economically independent.
Madam Affo-Toofey said she had remained committed to these initiatives since 2020, with the aim of ensuring that Persons with Disabilities, young people and skilled artisans receive support to improve their livelihoods.
The interventions reflect an emphasis on practical assistance to help beneficiaries develop their businesses, improve their economic prospects and participate more actively in local development.
