The Director of Elections and IT of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Mahdi Gibril, has announced the opening of an online platform for party members seeking to contest constituency-level positions as part of the party’s reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a Facebook post, Mr Gibril encouraged interested members in good standing to access and download the nomination forms through the party’s designated online platform.NDC constituency election forms forms.ghanandc.com
The announcement comes alongside the publication of filing fees for candidates seeking various constituency executive positions, with all payments required to be made online.
The Chairman position attracts the highest filing fee of GH¢5,000, while candidates for Vice Chairman, Secretary and Organizer will each pay GH¢3,000.
Candidates contesting the position of Communication Officer will pay GH¢2,500, while the filing fee for Treasurer, Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Youth Organizer and Women’s Organizer has been set at GH¢1,500 each.
The party has pegged the filing fee for Deputy Secretary, Deputy Organizer, Deputy Treasurer, Deputy Communication Officer, Deputy Youth Organizer, Other Youth Representative and Deputy Women’s Organizer at GH¢1,000 each.
The eight other constituency members will pay GH¢500 each.
Concessions for women and PWD candidates
The NDC has also introduced concessions for female candidates and persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Female candidates and PWDs will pay 50 percent of the applicable filing fee for all positions, except the positions of Women’s Organizer and Deputy Women’s Organizer.
However, female candidates who are also persons with disabilities will pay 50 percent of the prescribed fees when contesting the Women’s Organizer and Deputy Women’s Organizer positions.
The online nomination process forms part of the NDC’s broader internal reorganisation aimed at strengthening its grassroots structures and preparing the party for the 2028 general elections.
Mr Gibril said the platform would provide eligible party members with an opportunity to put themselves forward for the constituency-level elections.
The exercise is expected to pave the way for the selection of new constituency executives who will play a key role in grassroots mobilisation and the party’s preparations for the next general election.
