Chief Executive Officer of Engineers & Planners, Ibrahim Mahama, has paid his first official visit to Damang Gold Mine Limited following the successful transition of the mine’s operations to Ghanaian management.
The visit provided Mr Mahama with an opportunity to engage the management team, assess operations and review progress since the transition.
The CEO expressed satisfaction with the progress made at the mine and commended management and staff for their commitment, dedication and focus on operational excellence.
He also praised the significant strides recorded within the relatively short period since the change in management.
Addressing staff, Mr Mahama urged management to remain focused on the vision of developing “a world-class, proudly Ghanaian mining company”, anchored on safety, innovation and responsible mining.
“Together, we continue to build a stronger future for Damang Gold Mine Limited and create lasting value for our employees, host communities, business partners, shareholders, and the Republic of Ghana,” he said.
The transition of Damang Gold Mine to Ghanaian management has been described as a significant development in Ghana’s efforts to deepen local participation and ownership in the mining industry.
Management of the mine assured Mr Mahama of its commitment to maintaining global operational standards while prioritising employee welfare and supporting the development of host communities.
