The Ghana Scholarships Authority has officially opened applications for its Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the 2026/2027 academic year, inviting qualified Ghanaian students to apply.
In a statement issued under the auspices of the Office of the President, the Authority announced that the scholarship is targeted at “supporting needy but brilliant students to pursue higher education within the country.”
According to the statement, the application window runs from Monday, April 20, 2026, to Wednesday, May 20, 2026, with a firm caution that “late submissions will not be considered.”
Applicants are required to complete the process online through the official Scholarship Portal at www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh.
The Authority outlined that candidates must fill out the application form and upload all necessary supporting documents.
It further noted that “following submission, shortlisted applicants will be invited to undertake an aptitude test and selection interview as part of the assessment process.”
The Authority urged all eligible students to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing the importance of accuracy in the application process.
