The Ghana National Fire Service has confirmed that one person died in a road crash at Teacher Mantey on the Accra–Kumasi Highway after a vehicle collided with a stationary truck.
According to the service, the accident occurred on Saturday, March 7, when a Toyota Voxy rammed into a parked MAN Diesel truck along the busy highway.
A six-member rescue team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, led by ADOII Ocansey Bright, responded to the emergency and found the minivan severely damaged after the impact.
Firefighters conducted a rescue operation and recovered the body of a male occupant who had been trapped in the wreckage. The deceased was later handed over to the police for further investigation and preservation.
Eyewitnesses indicated that the vehicle was allegedly moving at high speed before crashing into the parked truck.
After completing the rescue operation, personnel from the fire service cleared the accident scene to restore normal traffic flow along the highway before returning to base.
