Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former NPP National Chairman Samuel Odoi-Sykes.
Dr Bawumia described the late Odoi-Sykes as a founding member of the NPP who served the party as National Chairman and represented Ghana as High Commissioner to Canada.
In a tribute, the former Vice President said Odoi-Sykes held an honoured place in the history of the NPP, having led the party to its first general election victory in the Fourth Republic in the year 2000.
“His service to Party and country will long be remembered,” Dr Bawumia stated.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones of the former NPP chairman.
“Farewell, Chairman. May your soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
