A massive show of grassroots support has emerged for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a coalition of 490 constituency youth organisers and their deputies from across Ghana picked his nomination forms on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2026 presidential primaries.
The organisers, representing constituencies nationwide, converged at the NPP headquarters in Accra before proceeding to Dr. Bawumia’s campaign office to formally submit the forms on his behalf.
According to the group, this united effort symbolises their belief in Dr. Bawumia’s vision for Ghana’s future, citing his record in digital transformation, economic reforms, and youth empowerment as the foundation for their endorsement.
They described the move as more than a political gesture, calling it “a signal of readiness to work tirelessly” to ensure Bawumia leads the party into the 2028 general elections.
The former Vice President is expected to formally respond to the endorsement in the coming days as the NPP’s nomination process gains momentum.
