Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has officially begun a three-day state visit to Ghana, aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
He arrived in Accra on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 and was received at the Jubilee Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama, where he was accorded full state honours, including a guard of honour and a 21-gun salute.
The visit is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in key sectors such as trade, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, governance, and job creation.

As part of the itinerary, the two leaders will hold bilateral talks at the Peduase Lodge, beginning with a private meeting before expanding into delegation-level discussions.
The engagements are expected to culminate in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding.
President Mahama is also set to host a state banquet at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in honour of his Zimbabwean counterpart, celebrating the longstanding ties between the two nations.

During his stay, President Mnangagwa will tour key facilities including the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, where he will be briefed on Ghana’s progress in healthcare and waste management.
He is also expected to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath in honour of Ghana’s founding leader.

The visit will conclude on Friday, April 3, with a formal departure ceremony.
