A tragic crime has shaken the Obuasi West Municipality in the Ashanti Region after Akosua Atta, affectionately known as Anti Atta, was fatally attacked by an unknown assailant in Abompekrom.
The horrifying incident unfolded on Sunday evening amid a town-wide power outage.
According to Frederick Addo, Assemblyman for Abompekrom Electoral Area, neighbors were alarmed by a desperate scream for help coming from Akosua’s home.
They hurried to her rescue and found her gravely injured in the kitchen.
Despite being rushed to the AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Hospital, Akosua succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
Her daughter, known only as Sister, expressed deep anguish and confusion over the brutal loss of her mother.
