The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has awarded diplomatic passports to five prominent Ghanaian creatives, recognizing their potential to promote the country’s image internationally.
Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made the announcement during the media launch of the Ghana Diaspora Summit.
The honourees include Grammy-nominated reggae artist Rocky Dawuni, media personality Anita Erskine, visual artist Ibrahim Mahama, entrepreneur Dentaa Amoateng MBE, and travel YouTuber Berthold Kobby Winkler Ackon, popularly known as WodeMaya.
Mr. Ablakwa emphasized that the recipients are tasked with showcasing Ghana globally and encouraging both diaspora Ghanaians and international visitors to engage with the country, particularly during the upcoming summit in December.
The initiative aligns with Ghana’s broader vision of fostering stronger cultural, social, and economic ties with the global community, leveraging the influence and reach of creative talents to highlight the nation’s rich heritage and opportunities abroad.
