Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has issued a stern warning to communities and individuals who attack security officers or destroy state security installations, declaring a new zero-tolerance stance by the government.
Speaking during the commissioning of the National Signals Bureau’s Ultra-Modern Command Center in the Eastern Region on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the minister condemned the increasing cases of assaults on uniformed personnel across the country.
He cautioned that under no circumstance will the state allow citizens to take the law into their own hands by targeting those entrusted with maintaining peace and order.
“We are not anymore going to tolerate communities that attack our security personnel and our security facilities. We will no longer tolerate that. And I send this signal and this announcement to all perpetrators who think because of our democracy and our resolve to get our agencies to do the right thing, to take them for granted.”
The Asawasi MP disclosed that at least four officers from various security agencies were currently battling for their lives after being attacked in the line of duty.
He described the situation as unacceptable, emphasizing that democracy should never be mistaken for weakness.
“Just last week, as we speak, we have more than four of our security agencies who are lying in the hospitals between life and death, simply because they’ve gone out to protect life and order. We are no longer going to do that, we will let the force of the forces come to bear on any community that think that they will attack our men and women and good suffering. That will no longer be tolerated under this government.”
He urged the public to respect security officers performing their duties, warning that future incidents of assault or interference would be met with decisive action from the state.
