The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed that two people died, and 19 others were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on the N1 highway near Fiesta Royale Hotel on Monday, February 23.
The crash involved a Kia truck, a Sprinter bus, and a Volvo trailer. Firefighters from the GNFS National Headquarters were dispatched after receiving a distress call at 7:58 p.m., quickly extricating victims and providing emergency medical support.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining 19 were rushed to Achimota Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital for treatment.
The GNFS worked alongside other emergency responders to secure the area, prevent secondary incidents, and clear the highway to restore traffic flow. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The Service extended condolences to the families of the deceased, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and urged all motorists to prioritize road safety and obey traffic regulations.
