Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has assured residents that work on the long-abandoned Takoradi Market Circle project will resume early next year.
During a site visit on Saturday, Dr. Forson described the project as a key driver of economic opportunity for Takoradi and the Western Region, promising improved livelihoods and a boost to local commerce once completed.
“The contractor is expected to return to the site early next year as we conclude ongoing debt restructuring,” he said, noting that the government is taking active steps to revive stalled infrastructure projects nationwide.
The redeveloped Market Circle is expected to transform Takoradi’s commercial hub into a modern, safer, and more accessible trading complex, benefiting thousands of traders and their families.
Dr. Forson’s visit, he said underscores the government’s commitment to completing vital projects ahead of the 2026 fiscal policy rollout.
