Sunyani residents are to experience a temporary power load management schedule after a GRIDCo transformer breakdown, VRA/NEDCo has announced.
The measure is aimed at managing electricity demand while repairs are underway and will remain in effect until normal operations are restored.
Under the schedule for January 22, 2026 (Day 2), electricity supply will be rotated among three groups:
- Group 1: Nana Bosoma Market, Newtown, Airport, parts of UENR, and surrounding communities – 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Group 3: Nimpong, STU, Fiapre, Nsoatre, and neighbouring areas – 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Group 2: Abesim Estate, Tanoso, Yamfo, Odumase, and nearby communities – 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
VRA/NEDCo expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to its customers and assured that full power supply will resume once the faulty transformer is repaired.
The utility advised residents to plan accordingly and thanked them for their patience.
