Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Mensah Williams, the soldier captured in a widely circulated CCTV video assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer near Burma Camp, has been granted GH¢70,000 bail with two sureties by an Accra Circuit Court.
The incident occurred on October 29, 2025, at a Pharmacy, where an argument over a GH¢65 refund escalated into violence.
The footage — which quickly went viral showed the soldier attacking the attendant before turning on a woman who attempted to film the altercation.
Public outrage grew swiftly, prompting the Military Police to arrest WO1 Williams the following day and hand him over to the Cantonments Police Station for criminal investigation.
The Ghana Armed Forces later issued a strong condemnation of the assault, stressing its zero-tolerance policy toward unprofessional and violent conduct within its ranks.
The case is expected to proceed as investigators finalize evidence ahead of trial, while pressure mounts for a clear demonstration of institutional discipline.
