A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Immigration Officer Stephen King Amoah, deepening police investigations into the high-profile case.
The suspect, identified as Thomas Zigah, alias Nii Jaase, was arraigned before the Adabraka District Court on Friday, August 22, 2025.
His arrest follows that of the prime suspect, Bright Aweh, who remains in police custody after being charged with murder earlier this month.
Police say Zigah is believed to have played a role in the officer’s disappearance and killing, which has gripped national attention since Amoah’s charred body was discovered near Kwabenya on July 9, 2025.
During court proceedings, Zigah’s lawyer requested that his client be transferred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment, citing deteriorating health, but prosecutors opposed the move.
The judge ruled that a formal application must be filed before any change of hospital can be approved.
The case has been adjourned to September 4, 2025, as police continue what they describe as a widening probe that could lead to further arrests.
