The Ghana Police Service has arrested Newton Allotey, a key suspect in the Omanjor Homowo violence that left three people dead, and several others injured.
Police sources say Allotey, alleged to be part of the armed gang that attacked the Omanjor chief’s palace, had been hiding in Dansoman.
Acting on a tip-off, four tactical teams from the Special Support Unit carried out a coordinated operation around 1:00 a.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Dansoman Last Stop.
During the operation, officers recovered 18 spent BB cartridges believed to be connected to the Omanjor attack.
Authorities confirmed that Allotey is currently in custody and assisting with investigations. The Police Service has urged members of the public with information that could aid in the arrest of other suspects to come forward.
