The Chairman of the Peace Council and Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (Rtd), On Sunday, August 10, paid a visit to the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to extend his heartfelt condolences following the devastating helicopter crash.
During this touching gesture, he signed the party’s book of condolence and offered prayers for the nation, including President Mahama, the grieving families, and all affected by the tragedy.
He was warmly received by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Executive Director for Prayer and Thanksgiving; Godwin Ako Gunn, Deputy Communication Officer; and Vida Addae, Director of Welfare, who all expressed gratitude for the comforting words and prayers.
The condolence visit comes in the wake of the Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, en route from Accra to Obuasi.
The crash claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, National Democratic Congress Vice-Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong.
The rest were former parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East Samuel Aboagye, and three military officers—Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
The loss of these distinguished individuals has cast a heavy shadow over the nation.
