A shocking patricide has rocked Likpe Abrani in Ghana’s Oti Region, as police apprehended a 23-year-old man, Innocent Owusu, following the alleged killing of his father, Peter Owusu, 59.
Authorities report that the incident occurred at the family home on December 30, 2025. After committing the crime, Owusu fled but was later tracked down to a forest hideout in Abrani through intelligence-led operations.
The decapitated body of the victim, according to the police, has been recovered and taken to Hohoe Government Hospital Morgue for autopsy and preservation. The suspect remains in police custody and is cooperating with investigators.
The Oti Regional Police Command praised local residents for their swift assistance in capturing Owusu and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
