Former Finance Minister Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta and seven others are set to be arraigned at the High Court in Accra on Monday, 24 November 2025, in connection with 78 counts of corruption and corruption-related offences linked to contracts awarded to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML).
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) confirmed the arraignment in a post on X, stating, “Accused persons will be arraigned before court on Monday, 24 November 2025. The Prosecution will seek the necessary court orders for service of the charge sheet on the fugitives who are outside of the jurisdiction.”
The charges include conspiracy to manipulate the procurement process to gain unfair advantage. Those named on the charge sheet include Ofori-Atta in his role as Finance Minister, Emmanuel Kofi Nti as Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, and Evans Adusei as CEO of SML.
The case stems from months of scrutiny over the contracts, which critics say were awarded without due process, imposing a significant financial burden on the state.
The arraignment marks a key stage in the ongoing high-profile investigation into public procurement irregularities in Ghana.
