An aspiring National Youth Organiser of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Okai Mintah, has met Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Sabah Zita Benson, in London.
The meeting took place at the High Commissioner’s residence and focused on matters of mutual interest as well as the continued progress of the NDC.
Mr Mintah said the engagement provided an opportunity to discuss issues concerning the party and the role of the youth in its future.
He also used the meeting to formally inform the High Commissioner of his intention to contest for the position of National Youth Organiser of the NDC.
According to Mr Mintah, he sought the blessing and support of Ms Benson as he prepares to pursue the position.
He expressed appreciation to the High Commissioner for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage with her on issues of importance to the party.
His decision to seek the National Youth Organiser position comes as the NDC prepares for its internal executive elections, with several party members expected to contest various national positions.
The National Youth Organiser position is expected to attract significant interest, given the critical role of the youth wing in mobilising grassroots support and advancing the party’s programmes and political activities.
