President John Dramani Mahama has directed Maripoma Enterprise Limited, contractors of the Ofankor–Nsawam road, to deliver quality work and complete the project within the agreed timeframe.
The President, who inspected the project on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, alongside Roads Minister Governs Agbodza, cautioned the contractors against the use of inferior materials that could compromise durability.
“As the government commits to paying you well, you too must commit to moving faster on the road and also use quality materials. One of the major problems with road contractors in this country is the quality of materials,” he told the contractors.
The Chief Resident Engineer, Ing. Kwabena Bimpong, assured that the dual carriage project will be completed by the second quarter of 2026.
Mr. Mahama also pressed the contractors to ease traffic disruptions as work continues, stressing that commuters must not suffer undue hardship.
The Ofankor–Nsawam project, which began in 2022 under the Akufo-Addo administration, has faced multiple delays due to funding challenges, fueling public anger over traffic congestion and pollution along the stretch.
